Launch of PS5 and Xbox Series X Forced to Be Postponed Due to Coronavirus

With the release of the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles later this year, there is some bad news that has caught the attention of fans. Apparently, production for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in China has been delayed due to the growing coronavirus outbreak.

In the last few weeks the GDC, SXSW, Minecraft Festival and Game Connection America 2021 gaming conferences have all been canceled. Nintendo has even postponed production for their updated Mid-Generation console update.

Given that Sony hasn’t revealed anything about the PS5, except for its production logo, it makes us think that it seems as if the creation of this new console will still take such a long time. Coupled with the possible corona issue will hamper everything Sony does in the future.

The postponement is expected to take months until mid-2021, at the moment it does not seem very confident to plan on continuing with work as many factories in China are vacant.
