Reporting from Bloomberg, creating a PS5 unit costs around USD 450 or 6.1 million rupiah. And based on the experience from the previous console, namely PS4, it is likely that the PS5 will be sold at a price of USD 470 or around 6.4 million rupiah. For its own production, the PS5 will begin mass production starting in spring 2021.
There are many factors that influence the increase in PS5 production prices. One of them is the high demand for DRAM and NAND flash memory supplies. Apart from that, Sony also wanted to make sure that the temperature wouldn’t be a problem on the PS5, so that the console could be played longer without any worries. For that, they also installed a quite luxurious cooling system on this next-gen console.
