This man is facing 25 years in prison for stealing Nintendo secret files
A 21-year-old teenager has to deal with the FBI because he is caught stealing Nintento’s secret files along with his console and game. He couldn’t escape when his house was raided by the FBI last year and they found evidence in the form of thousands of videos and pictures of minors.
This man named Ryan Hernandez was first arrested in 2021 because he and his friend were holding confidential files belonging to Nintendo employees. They are reportedly for stealing and downloading Nintendo’s proprietary information including information regarding the pre-release Nintendo Switch which it believes will not be leaked prior to its release.
In October 2021 Hernandez promised the FBI that he would cease further illegal activities, and he confirmed that he understood the consequences he would have if caught hacking in the future. But instead of giving up, a year later he again hacked into Nintendo’s servers and stole confidential information about popular video games, consoles, and developer tools.
June 2021 The FBI returned to Hernandez, but this time they received other evidence besides the hacking, namely videos and photos of minors on Hernandez’s computer. Underage pornography is a serious criminal offense, for which he is sentenced to three years in prison and if the judge has any other thoughts, he could face 25 years in prison.
