9 Years On, Battlefield 3 Finally Can Use Server MOD

GridGames.ID – Battlefield 3 has finally received a slight respite from the tyranny of official servers.

After five years of development, Venice Unleashed (VU) is finally go public.

Reporting from PCgamer, the moderator reverse engineer the Battlefield server code and managed to produce a platform not only for servers to be hosted privately, but also for all types of mods.

VU allows you to configure custom servers, including mod tools to change or customize your gameplay tastes.

Previously you could only play via EA-approved official servers.

With VU you can host and play on special servers for mods.

Under European Union interoperability laws, VU is completely legal.

An official copy of Battlefield 3 and an Origin account is required to use the mod, and this mod does not alter or distribute EA’s proprietary assets.

VU doesn’t just add configuration options and a tickrate for its private servers.

Through this mod server you can use the complete spactate system or features for in-game filmmaking or for holding competitions.

In the future, VU developers will also provide fully customizable content such as remote hosting of server mods, and various other additional features.
