GridGames.ID – Zlatan Ibrahimovic has accused FIFA 21 of having removed his name and face without permission.

He also scuffled on Twitter and expressed his anger through the @Ibra_official account, on Tuesday (24/11).

The AC Milan mainstay striker questioned who gave EA Sports permission to use his name and face on FIFA 21.

Ibra suspects that there are parties who want to take advantage of his popularity for personal gain.

Ibra’s tweet received a response from fellow footballer Gareth Bale.

The Real Madrid midfielder, who is on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, seemed to provide support for what Ibra echoed.

Knowing this, EA Sports as a game developer gave their response.

Quoted from SPORTbible, EA Sports claims to have collaborated with the association of professional football players, FIFPro regarding player licenses in the FIFA 21 game.

FIFPro itself consists of countries that are members of FIFA.

Ibrahimovic is of course a part of FIFPro because the country he is from, Sweden is a member.

Not only that, the club he is currently defending, namely AC Milan, also has a special partnership with EA Sports for FIFA 21.

The cooperation in question is access to players, team equipment, training sites, to the stadium in FIFA 21.

The polemic of names and pictures of soccer players in video games has been a debate that has not ended for a long time.

The same thing was done by one of the German goalkeepers in 2003, as quoted from The Athletic.

Until now, there is no midpoint that can solve the grayish rule.

Could Ibrahimovic’s tweets serve as a trigger for more serious discussion? Or will it just be the wind then?
