Marvel Avengers has lost 96% of players on Steam

Marvel Avengers

It has been reported that the Marvel Avengers game has lost 96% of players on Steam since its launch in September 2021. Despite receiving fairly good reviews at the start of its release, the game was unable to keep a large number of players.

Many say that the content in this game is not interesting enough to keep players hooked. Hence, the game started losing a lot of players even though the game was only launched two months ago.

Even though Marvel has a big name because of its achievements through the big screen films, it has not been able to save the fate of this Marvel Avengers game. Gamebyte reported that over the past weekend, the number of players for this game on Steam only reached 1,190. That was 96% less than the previous highest total number of players. So far, Steam only had an average of 752 players in November.

The number of console players is unknown, but it will likely be slightly better. Even so, this is still a big disadvantage for the game. This is very surprising because Marvel Avengers has a phenomenal launch. In fact it is Square Enix’s second largest digital launch after Final Fantasy VII Remake, which has sold up to 2.2 million digital copies.

Until now, neither Square Enix nor Crystal Dynamics have provided any comments regarding the steps that will be taken regarding the decline of this game. As is well known, currently Crystal Dynamics itself is busy with next-gen version upgrades and additional content.
