In celebration of N7 Day (7 November), Electronic Arts and BioWare announced that it has officially confirmed the release of the Mass Effect trilogy, called Mass Effect: Legendary Edition for console and PC games. After many months of reports and rumors about the collection.

The collection of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, released between 2007 and 2012 will be put together. Initially this BioWare game was only released as an Xbox 360 exclusive. But a few years later it finally came to the PlayStation 3 and has been multiplatform ever since.

According to the official announcement, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will not be completely new or remade. However, BioWare is only fixing it so that players will get the best form out of the game.

Such as better resolution and frame rate, single player DLC based content and added promotional items. Even elements like textures, shadows, character models and effects will all be improved for this Legendary Edition.

However, Mass Effect: Andromeda, which was launched in 2017, is not in the collection. Games featuring a different set of characters and even new protagonists, were not as well received as their predecessors. Since then the Mass Effect series has stopped launching.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will officially be released in Spring 2021, available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. It’s even rumored to be playable on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, with even better upgrades.
