Microsoft Partners with Apple Support Xbox Controller on iOS

Microsoft and Apple are working together to make the new Xbox Series X and Series S controllers that will work on iPhone and iPad. Currently, this new controller is not compatible with iOS or iPadOS. But Apple said “Microsoft and Apple are working together to bring compatibility for Xbox controllers on iOS to customers in a future update.”

This isn’t the first time the two companies have had to work on improving Xbox controller support on iOS. Apple worked with Microsoft to add support for Xbox Elite 2 controllers and Xbox Adaptive Controller to iOS 14 earlier this year. However, that support came almost a year after the release of Elite 2.

It has not been confirmed how long it will take Microsoft and Apple to provide support between iOS and Xbox Series X controllers.

There are signs that DualSense support is coming soon as well. Apple Insider recently reported that iOS 14.3, currently in beta, “appears to include behind the scenes support” for the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller.

Although Apple did not explicitly mention dualshock support. However, from the iOS 14.3 Beta update note, Apple will soon include support for this controller.

Apple will soon support dual shock as well as Xbox controllers on iOS

Hopefully Apple will finish the update soon to add support for Xbox and PlayStation 5 controllers soon. Looking at it previously, Apple took up to 2 years to complete the Elite 2 controller support.

Surely with the arrival of support from iOS to the two console controllers, it adds to the comfort and convenience of playing games, friend!
