Nexon fines its employees for buying and selling gift giveaway vouchers
Nexon Korea recently ran into trouble with the Counterside gaming operations team. This is because several employees were caught selling in-house coupons that should have been the right of ounterside gamers who had bought feedback for the game. The coupon shouldn’t be for sale.
In the case announced on February 19, the perpetrators were fined an amount more than their salary. Nexon also announced that its internal employees will undergo “ethics training”. This is intended so that incidents like this will no longer occur in the future.
Apart from the above cases, the problem is compounded by the case of an internal employee “leaking” update information for Counterside in a social group chat. Even though it was finally discovered that the leaked information was wrong, Nexon continued to take preventive measures by surveying all internal employees. Reportedly they will also ask the police for help investigating the problem of this leakage of false information.
