RTX 3090 Can Play Games Up To 8k
When the release of the Nvidia RTX 3090, Nvidia promised consistent 4K gameplay at 60fps (frames per second). However, there are many questions about how far this graphics card will perform. As it turns out, the test results could justify buying an 8K TV or monitor.
YouTuber ‘Bang4BuckPC Gamer’ features Crysis 3, The Witcher 3, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Final Fantasy XV running on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, and is capable of hitting 30fps in 8K. Given that this game still has high graphics and often appears on lists for ‘most beautiful games’, this achievement is no small feat.
For Horizon Zero Dawn, YouTuber used a mix of High and Ultra settings and hit 30fps, with some dropping down to 27fps. For Final Fantasy XV, games run on DLSS and 40fps in native 8K (even though Nvidia VXAO is disabled).
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is also capable of running The Witcher 3 at Ultra settings in 8K at over 35fps, a great achievement considering the game runs on Nvidia Hairworks (a graphic effect that adds realistic hair to the character). Lastly, Crysis 3 runs at over 40fps in 8K on High settings.
With a price of around 1500 $, this product offers a significant price to performance. However, whether this high performance can be issued entirely in daily use, we just wait.
