Smartfren, Tri, and Telkomsel Chosen as 5G Vendors in Indonesia!

Initially the 2.3 Ghz frequency was used by operators Telecommunication Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) but its license has been revoked. And auctioned off to all mobile operators. Government in this Kominfo later it will divert these frequencies to 5G cellular mobile services.

The results of the selection and auction for the use of the 2., 3 Ghz radio frequency band block in the 2360-2390 Mhz range were won by three operators, namely Smartfren, Tri Indonesia, and Telkomsel.

The allocation of frequency bands that are auctioned is 30 Mhz consisting of three blocks, namely blocks A, B, and C. Block A is occupied Smartfren, Block B is occupied by Tri Indonesia and Block C is occupied by Telkomsel. The three cellular operators each receive an allocation of 10 Mhz.

With the addition of 10 Mhz, the current position is Smartfren and Telkomsel each get an allocation of 40 Mhz. While Tri Indonesia will get an allocation of 10 Mhz and PT. Berca Hardayapkasa in several regions.

The following is a breakdown of the area for each block:

1. Block A consists of:

  • Range 2,360 – 2,370 Mhz in zone 1 (Northern Sumatra).
  • Range 2,360 – 2,370 Mhz in zone 4 (Banten, Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi).
  • Range 2,360 – 2,370 Mhz in zone 5 (West Java, except Bogor, Bekasi and Depok).
  • Range 2,360 – 2,370 Mhz in zone 6 (Central Java).
  • Range 2,360 – 2,370 Mhz in zone 7 (East Java).
  • Range 2,360 – 2,370 Mhz in zone 9 (Papua).
  • Range 2,360 – 2,370 Mhz in zone 10 (Maluku and North Maluku).
  • Range 2,360 – 2,370 Mhz in zone 12 (North Sulawesi).

2. Block B consists of:

  • Range 2,370 – 2,375 Mhz in zone 1 (North Sumatra).
  • Range 2,370 – 2,375 Mhz in zone 4 (Banten, Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi).
  • Range 2,370 – 2,375 Mhz in zone 5 (West Java).
  • Range 2,370 – 2,375 Mhz in zone 6 (Central Java).
  • Range 2,370 -2,375 Mhz in zone 7 (East Java).
  • Range 2,370 – 2,375 Mhz in zone 9 (Papua).
  • Range 2,370 – 2,375 Mhz in zone 10 (Maluku and North Maluku).
  • Range 2,370 – 2,375 Mhz in zone 12 (North Sulawesi).
  • Range 2,370 – 2,375 Mhz in zone 15 (Riau Islands).

3. Block C consists of:

  • Range 2,380 – 2,390 Mhz in zone 4 (Banten, Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi).
  • Range 2,380 – 2,390 Mhz in zone 5 (West Java).
  • Range 2,380 – 2,390 Mhz in zone 6 (Central Java).
  • Range 2,380 – 2,398 Mhz in zone 7 (East Java).
  • Range 2,380 – 2,390 Mhz in zone 9 (Papua).
  • Range 2,380 – 2,390 Mhz in zone 10 (Maluku and North Maluku).
  • Range 2,380 – 2,390 Mhz in zone 12 (North Sulawesi).
  • Range 2,380 – 2,390 Mhz in zone 15 (Riau Islands).
