Ubisoft Working on Star Wars Open World Game, The Force Reawakens

Ubisoft has confirmed that it is working on an open world adventure game Star Wars The Force Reawakens. Development will be handled by the French developer Massive studio, which was previously responsible for the creation of Tom Clancy’s The Division game.

Earlier this week, Disney renamed its gaming division to Lucasfilm Games for what it called the “new era”. Since then, the company has announced not only the Star Wars game Ubisoft, but also the Indiana Jones title from MachineGames Bethesda studios.

It seems that Disney, who owns the big rights to Lucasfilm, wants to further organize the legendary Star Wars franchise. They made sure that this new Star Wars project would be very different from the previous one, whose story would be much more dynamic and fresher.

We know that Disney’s partnership with EA is arguably not good, since the two Battlefront series have drawn a lot of controversy. However, even though Disney has collaborated with Ubisoft, it continues to collaborate with EA. It’s just that the Star Wars game rights will no longer be exclusive to EA.

There are no details when the game Star Wars The Force Reawakens it will launch, on what platform, or part of the Star Wars universe to explore. This game will be made using Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, which is best known as the technology behind The Division series.
