Court in Russia Banned Anime Death Note

Anime Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul and Inuyashiki have been declared legally prohibited in Russia following the St. Petersburg yesterday. The ban is related to websites where this anime can be watched.
The prosecutor filed this ban on the grounds of protecting adolescents. Evidence for Death Note’s bad role is the fact that in the last eight years, a Russian teenager who owns the Death Note manga committed suicide, and another teenager fell from a window while wearing a shirt and tie similar to the main character Light Yagami. According to those who pushed for the ban, teenagers “reenact violent scenes” because they see them in anime.
St. Kolpinsky district court. Petersburg ruled Wednesday that “Death Note” and “Inuyashiki” were banned from distribution on two websites while “Tokyo Ghoul” had been banned on one website, according to the court system. The state news agency RIA Novosti reported that the court system determined that the ban only applies to registered web addresses.
The court continued to hear Wednesday’s arguments over three other anime cartoons as well as the popular Russian rapper Morgenstern meme-based song “I Ate Grandpa.”
Russian parents have been campaigning to ban the Death Note anime since 2013 after a 15 year old girl with the manga collection “Death Note” died of suicide.
This year, St. media. Petersburg reported that a teenager “Death Note” fan had fallen from a window wearing a white shirt and red tie in the style of Death Note’s main character, Light Yagami.
Prosecutors also put forward arguments in an attempt to ban Naruto, Interspecies Reviewers, and Elfen Lied.
“Every episode contains cruelty, murder, violence,” said the court about this anime.
