Ghost of Tsushima Ready for Mass Production

A few hours ago the developer of Sucker Punch Productions announced that their newest game, Ghost of Tsushima, has been “Gone Gold” through their official Twitter account.

The term “Gone Gold” means that a game is ready to be copied onto a master disc for mass production. Ghost of Tsushima previously had a release date of 26 June 2021, but was postponed due to the situation of the Covid-19 virus outbreak. Sucker Punch Productions employees must work from their homes to be safe from the virus outbreak.

Rumors had spread that the postponement would be released until August, but only for a few weeks. Apart from that with its release The Last of Us Part II In this June, of course Sony doesn’t want to risk the two exclusive 2021 games of theirs competing with each other in the same month.

A few weeks ago Sony Interactive Entertainment announced via their official blog that they were releasing a special poster set Ghost of Tsushima. This poster set by Afro Samurai manga artist Takashi Okazaki consists of 4 images of protagonist Jin Sakai in various poses, in black and white.

Ghost of Tsushima is the “biggest” Sucker Punch game, in terms of in-game content and the breadth of views to see and explore. This is their newest game since they released inFamous Second Son and inFamous First Light in 2014. Their previous games that were released exclusively for the PlayStation were trilogies Sly Cooper and series inFamous.

Ghost of Tsushima will be released on July 17, 2021, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
