Doraemon Presents the Latest Anime to Celebrate Manga's 50th Birthday

It’s not every day that manga turns 50 years old, so people are ready to celebrate Doraemon’s 50th birthday. According to Anime News Network, the Doraemon anime will celebrate its predecessor manga with three episodes that will air this Saturday.

Gen Hoshino, who sings the current Doraemon opening song, will be a part of the show by introducing the 1973 episode of “Ultra Mixer”. It is his personal favorite, and episodes will be repeated for this show.

There will also be professional violinist Chisako Takashima, talking about her favorite episode, “The Mood-Changing Orchestra.” The episode is not being remade for Saturday, but will feature new orchestral music.

The screening of the third episode will be a brand new episode, and based on the Nobita Dinosaurs manga / film arc. This will be a fun way to celebrate Doraemon, and if things don’t get worse due to COVID, this could be a great time to visit the museum of Doraemon creator, Fujiko F. Fujio.
