Fortnite is Now Available on the Google Play Store

Fortnite is a free-to-play battle royale game originally released on PC, running to Android and iOS in 2021. But for Android users it’s not as simple as going to the Play Store and downloading it. They have to download it from the official Epic Games website.

Now the game is showing its form on the Google Play Store after 18 months of release. Regarding why this game didn’t come to the Google Play Store when it was launched, because Epic Games doesn’t want Google to take a cut of Fortnite’s revenue from Android users. Google receives a cut of the revenue generated by Android apps on the Play Store.

Fortnite appears on Google Play Store on April 20, and now the game can be downloaded for free. The game comes with an initial download size of 107MB and requires an additional 7.4GB download in it.

Google requires a 30 percent discount from developers to place their apps on the Play Store. Last year, Epic Games ask Google to exclude Fortnite from the 30 percent withholding rule, but it appears that the exception is being rejected.
