A new report states that the M-Two studio, which contributed to Resident Evil 3 Remake, is no longer responsible for the making of the Resident Evil 4 remake, and the game will likely be delayed until 2023.

According to information reported by VGC, there is some disagreement between Capcom and M-Two, which has caused M-Two’s role in the Resident Evil 4 remake to be significantly reduced with Division 1 Capcom taking the game development expert.

The report stated the disagreement stemmed from M-Two’s wishes because they wanted Resident Evil 4 Remake to remain the same as the original RE4, another reason being the criticism received about the Resident Evil 3 remake that did not present the nuances of the original game on PlayStation, it has disappointed the majority of the series’ fans.

Capcom itself wants the game to be a game inspired by the original game, with different elements that were not part of the original game, “similar to Resident Evil 2 which uses MR.X,” according to the report.

The game is now said to be undergoing a reboot which could result in the RE4 remake being postponed until 2023.

The Resident Evil 4 remake has been in development since 2021, and was originally slated for release in 2022 as per previous reports.

According to leaked reports, it is known that M-Two, an Osaka-based studio built by Tatsuya Minami, the former head of PlatinumGames, will lead the game’s development.

The director of the original RE 4 himself refused to lead the remake of this game, but that doesn’t mean he’s against it. He even provided some suggestions for the game which is quite anticipated by this.
