The government will impose 10% tax on Steam!
In July, the Government will start imposing taxes on any purchases on one of Valve Corporation’s popular gaming platforms called Steam. The tax will later be charged 10% .
Indonesia is not the only country that will be taxed on each of its game installments. Governments in other countries have also enforced this rule, such countries, such as Germany, Saudi Arabia, which provide even higher taxes than Indonesia.
This rule has been implemented through the Minister of Finance Number 48 / PMK.03 / 2021 starting on 1 July. In addition, Steam has also confirmed which countries will be subject to tax on every game purchase via Steam digital products.
