This is Riot's New Game, Valorant

For its first type of competitive game, Riot, developer League of Legends grabbing the attention of gamers of some of the biggest games in the genre. Today, Riot officially launched Valorant – previously known only as “Project A”- with a video showing nearly three minutes of gameplay. Based on the video above, Valorant looks to combine CS: GO’s tactical gameplay with over-the-top characters and special powers from Overwatch. The creators describe it as a five-on-five game, “where creativity is your greatest weapon.”

“Try to imagine that tactical shooters encounter hypernatural powers,” the official website explains. “Everyone has unique weapons and abilities, so how do you guys beat someone with wind speed? Use your own moves to defeat them while aiming then shooting. Valorant is a game for strategists that combines gameplay CS: GO and Overwatch “. The game is expected to launch this summer, possibly in beta on PC.

Riot already operates one of the biggest games in the world with the decade-old strategy title League of Legends, so Valorant’s potential is clear, especially as he wants to carve out his own niche in an already popular genre. The developers seem to be very focused on a competitive audience, which means we’ll probably see a big esports push if Valoren gathers an audience. Here is what Riot has to say about this matter:

We think you need to trust enough games to invest in: 128-tick servers, at least 30 frames per second on most min-spec computers (even since a decade), 60 to 144 FPS on high-end-pc, global data servers aimed at <35ms for players in major cities around the world, netcodes we've been obsessed with for years, and a commitment to anti-cheat from day one.

Valorant is part of the revival at Riot, because this company wants to grow outside of its famous game that is League of Legends, the only game released within the first 10 years of its existence. That includes the animated series Liga, a so-called mobile spin-off Wild Riftthe so-called, collectable card game Legend of Runeterra, fighting games, and publishing ventures that would allow indie studios to make games focus on stories in the universe.
