“We want to bring the Epic Games Store to iOS in the future and also to Android. We think this is a good way to help the industry continue to grow, ”said Sweeney in an interview with Gamespot.
Apart from presenting EGS Mobile, Epic Games also plans to invite several mobile game developers to use the Unreal Engine as their game creation. This is because Epic Games frees engine royalties for the first $ 1 million in revenue and offers a profit sharing system that will certainly be very tempting for those who want to release the game to the EGS platform.
“Now, we have provided many things with the Unreal Engine to the Epic Online service, we open the opportunity for all developers to use them in their games and try to provide a more attractive alternative to the game industry ecosystem,” he explained.
The reason they made this alternative was because Epic Games had protested Google Play’s revenue sharing policy which was considered unfair to them developer.
