Valve Disqualifies Zeus Gaming From Bucharest Minor For SEA Qualifier Position

Because Zeus Gaming contains players who are original citizens of China.

Zeus Gaming which became the Dota 2 professional team and competed for The Bucharest Minor, had to be disqualified because of citizenship problems. Zeus Gaming, which was supposed to contain players from the Malaysian region, turned out to be played by players from China. And this made Valve cancel their victory over WG.Unity.

Many people say that this is Valve’s fault for not providing written regulations that require team players to come from a country with the team’s region. This is what makes some Reddit readers feel that Valve isn’t good in handling matters like this.

The Bucharest Minor is the first Minor program of Dota 2, which awards money as well DPC (Dota Pro Circuit Point) which can be submitted to qualify for The International event. Bucharest Minor will be held in Bucharest, Rome on June 9 – 13 January 2021.
