Good News, Kemenpora Prepares Draft Esports Law, The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) through the secretary of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Gatot Subroto, explained that his party would include and discuss Esports as one of the important things in their draft law.
Sports technology or what is more familiar to our ears as esports is a new domain in the world of sports, esports itself has been recognized internationally and has become an important part of major events such as the Sea Games, ASEAN Games, and various other international events.

In Indonesia, the Esports industry is not new for all. There have been many teams that have formed a division or section of Esports into their management section such as the soccer team from Bali, Bali United which decided to form their Esports division in mid-2019.
Not only from the soccer team who decided to form the Esports division, now there are also many top artists who have started to love the world of this digital sport. Call it like Ariel, the vocalist of the band “Noah” who made his esports team called The Pillars who will compete in Free Fire tournaments.
With the improvement of the Esports environment in this country, the government is also trying to bridge the world of digital sports by providing a legal umbrella alias law which is expected to become a legal basis for esports players.
Gatot explained that the legal status for Indonesian esports is currently still being discussed along with the revision of the National Sports System Law (UU SKN) which will still be discussed for the next few months.
“At first we issued a regulation on the Menpora ahead of the last SEA Games, because yesterday’s SEA Games also had esports,” said Gatot Subroto, adding that he also added, “But after considering that our law will be changed soon, the increase will be straightforward”, explained Gatot as when met by Detik.com at the Gelora Bungkarno Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, Monday (10/2/2020).
