Nintendo Admits There is a Security Gap in Their Planform, 160,000 Leaked Accounts

Nintendo Admits There is a Security Gap in Their Planform, 160,000 Leaked Accounts. Earlier in April, a hacking case allegedly took place in the NNID system for Nintendo online accounts, and now the company has officially confirmed it. According to the confirmation on April 24, about 160,000 accounts were leaked in the illegal hacking.

As a result, Nintendo recommends that all users enable two-step verification to make their accounts more secure. Nintendo itself has confirmed that the hack did not reach the theft of credit card data on the payment menu. The data that was leaked were details such as country / region, email address, nickname, date of birth, and – in the case of those affected via NNID – real name and gender.

Nintendo also added that if there is an unauthorized purchase from the leaked account, they will immediately refund.
